Whether you want to walk, run, hike, bike, golf, swim, scuba, ski, shop, fish, boat, bird watch, play cards, horseshoes, read, or just relax, it's all here!
Besides the amazing scenery & peaceful ambiance, there are many things to do. Along the Loyalist Parkway are many antique & collectible shops -- can keep you busy for many days! The small towns have all kinds of festivals throughout the summer months. There are several golf courses nearby as well as the Sand Banks, a Provincial Park with picnic area, fast food, tot lots, & amazing sand banks that will keep the kids busy for hours (as well as great exercise!) - located outside Bloomfield.
And the newest attraction are the wineries. Called the next "Niagara on the Lake," Prince Edward County has attracted what will be 40 new wineries ... I believe 24 were to be opened by Christmas 2007. I hit only six last year! Prince Edward County is right next door ... easy ride & beautiful country. Also there is a lavender farm & other food-type farms.
If you're a swimmer, take a boat or swim the channel to the island across the way (easy swim). The island is perpendicular to the shoreline offering Weller's Bay on one side and Lake Ontario on the other. The Lake side has a beach & many sand bars that allow you to walk out a long way. The Bay side is great for water skiing!
